My real estate journey
I started selling real estate in 1993 with a local firm here in Abilene and was really blessed to learn real estate from the ground up. I later moved to Better Homes and Gardens because it offered many technological advantages. Years later the BH&G Franchise left and I became associated with GMAC real estate which then became Coldwell Banker Real Estate. The one thing I did learn from being associated with all these different franchisees was that they all have different philosophies. I have been able to use many of them and take the best of them with me to Keller Williams Realty. I have special training in Military relocation, working with USAA Movers Advantage program, USAA real estate rewards program, and have worked with many corporate relocation companies. I believe that this journey has made me better prepared to handle working with all buyers and sellers today.
My move to Texas and why I love living here
I moved to Texas in December of 1985 as a young airman fresh from technical training in Chanute AFB in Rantoul, Illinois. I was assigned to Dyess AFB to work on the C130H auto pilot system. I got to watch the last B-52 leave the base as the B1-B took over. I did not know then that the journey to Abilene would be a lifelong change for me.
I married my wife in 1987 and bought a home in 1989 and my roots got planted. I knew as my life came together and my family grew that Abilene was the place to stay. I have always loved the people of Abilene and their friendly attitude toward the military. I knew that as a REALTOR I could help people coming and going from Dyess with their military moves because I had experienced exactly what they had. I also knew that I could help anyone looking to sell or buy a home because I have an understanding of what it takes to get the job done. My kids have been born and raised in Abilene and I’m proud to call it home.
My proudest moments
I’m most proud of my two children and my wife. My daughter is a graduate of Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. She graduated with her bachelors and master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences and is a graduate of the Texas A&M College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas. My son graduated Cooper High school in Abilene and graduated from Cisco College at the same time with his level 2 welding certificates. What makes me so proud of my children is that they have grown up with core values and have learned how to be productive and kind. My wife of 32 years and I could not be happier with our children and our roots that we have made here in Abilene.
Life in my spare time
In my spare time I like to spend as much time with my family as possible. We like to take trips with our RV and travel whenever possible, we also like to spend time using our dirt bikes. We ride trails as a family and travel to different destinations to ride our dirt bikes and ATV’s. My son also races motocross and we travel as a race team with him.
